At our 25th October meeting DaveK showed us some apps and Robert demonstrated Maths Notes. We also talked about recent news and members shared other topics.
Apps
DaveK showed us a couple of iOS apps:
- Strolly - generates fresh walking routes around any area.
- Theme Scape - Provides backgrounds, icons, widgets and more to customise and theme your iOS devices. There is some manual work required (instructions provided) to install the theme components.
DaveK also showed us the latest version of Discretion, his photo sharing privacy app, including the ability to save to Photos on iOS. Discretion now has full Mac support on both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs. It’s a free download on the App Store.
Maths Notes
Robert demonstrated the new Maths Notes feature in Notes on the Mac and in Calculator on iOS.

- Apple Business Connect to allow verified businesses to create consistent branding across Apple services.
- A USB-C charger will no longer be supplied with the basic iPad in the UK, the price has been reduced to compensate.
- The initial Apple Intelligence features are coming with iOS 18.1 next week.
- iOS 18.1 includes the option to change your primary iCloud email address.
- AirPods Pro 2 hearing features are coming in iOS 18.1
