Meeting Report: 10th September 2010
We started the meeting with a discussion covering Apple’s recent announcements of the new iPod shuffle, iPod nano, iPod touch and Apple TV.
John then gave us an interesting presentation on OpenMeta, a standard for tagging files that can be used across applications. OpenMeta tags stay with files when they are moved about and don’t rely on a central database. Tags can be read and written by multiple applications and also work in Spotlight searches (using the tag: identifier). A list of the applications currently supporting OpenMeta is available.
